The past few days, my cup has run over. I’ve met and reconnected with so many solid business leaders. And here’s what I know: every breakthrough is on the other side of the right relationship.
I pray that God multiplies the connections made for each person who traveled. I pray He meets these leaders where they are. Leadership can be lonely. And loneliness, as I was reminded by Karen Dillon—contributing editor of Harvard Business Review and co-author of The Microstress Effect—lowers life expectancy. That nugget hit me.
I often pride myself on being able to go from sunup to sundown with very little human contact—hyper-productive, hyper-focused. But I think we all need “micro” breakthroughs.
Micro breakthroughs are those small but profound interactions with other human beings—moments that shift your spirit if you’re intentional about showing up as your authentic self.
Did you catch that?
Deep relationships matter—but so do transformational micro-moments in everyday settings. That’s where we can do the opposite of our usual habits and build trust, especially in a world where the ultra-successful often operate from a place of guardedness.
Breakthrough—spiritual, emotional, psychological, financial—often comes through connection.
