Gratitude Focus: Clarity and the Gift of Time

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

Today, I am grateful for clarity. Over the course of the last week, I’ve been sitting with a single, profound thought—time. I don’t know about you, but for me, time is sacred. There’s so much I want to do, so much I believe I’m called to do. But every choice comes with a trade-off—because no matter how disciplined I am, I can’t make more time.

At the end of last year, I made a decision to launch a podcast, built directly from my blog. Every week, I released two blogs—one on Sunday, one on Wednesday—and produced corresponding podcast episodes. This, on top of leading a bank, serving on boards, and honoring my civic commitments.

But last week, I found myself praying specifically about capacity. And here’s what I heard in my spirit:

“Don’t spread yourself too thin. Yes, you are managing well, but you’re working nonstop.
Give yourself room to think.
Give the vision I’ve placed in your heart the time it needs to grow.”

So after careful reflection, I made a shift. Moving forward, I’ll release one blog and one podcast per week. And I can’t tell you how liberating that simple decision has been. The clarity alone has opened a new world. I’m finding time not just to think, but to sit with ideas long enough for them to become mature.

And the irony? That clarity came while writing my daily gratitude post. When you give yourself space to reflect, God has a way of meeting you there.

Scripture for Meditation:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
—Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

This verse reminds me that even good things must be aligned with the right season. Clarity comes not from doing more, but from being in tune with what this season truly requires.
