Today, I’m grateful for Padre Island — my happy place.
I’m wrapping up 4 days here, and it’s always hard to leave. Many of you may remember this was the very first place I ever took a real vacation back in college — sophomore or junior year. I fell in love with it then, and over the years it became a family tradition. Eventually, my wife and I decided to buy a condo here. We mostly rent it out, but I make it a point to come down a few times a year to work-rest, reflect, and reset.
There’s something about the rhythm of the waves and the simplicity of life here — one level, quiet mornings, long walks on the beach, my wife cooking, and an incredible view from the ninth floor — not too high, not too low. It’s the perfect place for reflection and productivity. I’m also deeply appreciative of the staff here — they’re attentive and kind, and that makes the experience even better.
