Gratitude Focus: Grateful For The Decision To Exercise Patience

Written by Orvin Kimbrough | June 01, 2026

Today, I’m grateful for the decision to exercise patience—even when it costs time, energy, and a little extra stress.

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

Recently, I was on a call with one of our virtual assistants discussing some final details related to OrvinKimbrough.com, which has been under renovation for what feels like forever—but in reality, it’s been several months.

During our conversation, he said, “I am grateful for your patience,” as he’s been learning new technology in Squarespace, navigating the ins and outs of the site, and getting aligned with the vision. He added, “Every day it gets clearer and clearer.”

That meant a lot, because it’s true—clarity takes time, and time is money.
But I’ve learned that exercising patience in the process isn’t wasted time; it’s invested time.

This project has tested not just my schedule but my spirit. There are so many complicated moving parts:

migrating The Accidental Banker into OrvinKimbrough.com

refreshing the premium sections

developing a dedicated space for Gratitude

and launching the paid premium content

Each phase has demanded flexibility, grace, and perspective. Yet, I’m thankful I’ve learned to superimpose timelines with patience—because something always takes longer than expected, and sometimes the delay is the development.

That’s why I’m reminded of this verse:

“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” — James 1:4 (KJV)

Patience isn’t passive—it’s productive. It’s how God perfects our character while refining our craft. When we allow patience to do its work, we grow stronger, clearer, and more complete.

Patience doesn’t just slow the process—it shapes the person.
