Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

I just wrapped an interview with this incredible organization. It’s been around for quite some time, and I’ve known the CEO for all of my professional career—25 years. In the early part of my journey, we spent a lot of time together before our paths naturally went in different directions.

It’s always been important to me to become as successful and accomplished as I can—not just for myself, but to show other young people and the adults who care for them, especially those in foster care, that we can do better, be better, and rise beyond our circumstances. I think I’m in that season now where I’m being called to enlarge the tent—to tell more of the story, to use my platform to encourage others.

We’re living in a time when so many who already feel marginalized are being pushed even further to the edges. I just want to be a voice of hope, to remind anyone who feels like they’re in the ditch that they don’t have to stay there. Today, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share that message—and for finding the words to offer encouragement to everyone who will hear the interview.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, ensure justice for those being crushed.” — Proverbs 31:8
