Gratitude Focus: Grateful For The People I Get To Work With

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

One of the best parts of my job is the time I get to spend with colleagues—sometimes one-on-one, sometimes in functional groups, and sometimes across different parts of the business. Tonight was one of those nights. We had dinner with a group that included people who came through a social service lens, commercial bankers, finance professionals, IT and data specialists, and our digital team.

I asked them one question: What most breaks your heart, and what gives you the most energy? That question carried the evening. We talked about what motivates them, what they care about most, and eventually about business too. What stood out was the openness, the vulnerability, and the shared desire to navigate the changing times in banking while staying steady on our growth path. It was a wonderful conversation, and I’m deeply grateful for it.

This verse reminds me that our conversations with one another aren’t just casual exchanges—they can be sparks that inspire action, love, and good work. Tonight’s dialogue was exactly that: encouragement that sharpens us and motivates us to keep going.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”— Hebrews 10:24
