Over the past few days, I’ve had several conversations related to the storm and there's so much happening beneath the surface. I’ve come to really appreciate people who speak plainly and directly, especially in times like these.
Some are willing to tell it like it is: that some families didn’t have insurance, and that recovery is going to be difficult for them. I think it's unfortunate when we avoid having honest conversations. The truth, even when hard, gives people the dignity of clarity. The sooner we say it, the sooner we can support and respond in ways that actually matter.
