Today was board day—long, nonstop, and mentally intense. After two committee meetings and just before our full board session, one board member said, “Orv, I just saw you smile. I like it when you smile. You didn’t smile at any other meeting.”
That small comment stuck with me. As leaders, our mood is always being read, shaping the energy in the room. His comment reminded me: no matter how heavy the moment, smile—it encourages others and sustains you too.
