Gratitude Focus: Small Gestures with Lasting Impact

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

This morning, I got up around 5 a.m. and checked my messages. I had a note from a woman I admire, a fierce advocate for children who has fostered and adopted some of the toughest cases.

She shared that a group tied to the bank had thrown her an adoption celebration. She told them she wouldn’t have met the girls if it hadn’t been for me “pulling some strings” to get them into the training that my wife and I were going through to become foster parents.

We never completed the process, but they did.

What struck me is that I barely remembered making that call. It was small to me, but it became a life-changing chapter in her story.

That’s the thing about small gestures: they accumulate. They build significance over time. They often become the foundation of someone else’s breakthrough and of our own legacy.
