I went up to the lodge for their Labor Day cookout, something I try to do every year. Each time I’m there, I end up in a conversation with the same kind man, and this time I had the chance to meet his wife too. We talked about the nature of work and how society often ties value to college degrees. But the truth is, every person has God-given gifts—whether you work with your hands or with your mind. Each role carries value, meaning, and purpose. We need to get back to the basics of seeing each other as human beings first.
