Gratitude Focus: Today, I’m Grateful for Radical Service.

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

I recently watched an episode of CBS Sunday Morning featuring a man from Maryland who spends nearly all his free time cleaning up tires, debris, and trash from public land, no fanfare, no paycheck, just purpose. When asked why he does it, he responded, “Why would I pay for a gym membership when I can exercise completely for free?” That line struck me, but what struck me more was the deeper truth: this man isn’t just working out, he’s working for others.

His life is a quiet sermon on going the extra mile for the common good. He touched my heart, and reminded me that true strength is not just physical, it’s moral. And when we show up not just for ourselves, but for humankind, we become the kind of people who inspire real, lasting change.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Who inspires you with the way they serve, and how might you go one step further today in your own service?
