Yesterday, in a meeting with a couple of executives, I was asked again: why did I leave the work where I was winning to take the risk of moving into banking—an industry I didn’t know?
The truth is, many of us want to protect the win. We want to hold on to the success we already have rather than risk disrupting it for what could be greater. But sometimes, to grow, you have to swing. Over my 30-year career, I’ve taken plenty of small swings, but coming over to the bank was a big swing. You don’t take a thousand of them in life, but you do have to take a few if you want to get to where God is calling you.
Faith means stepping into what you can’t fully see, trusting that God is guiding the swing.
