Gratitude Focus: Today, I’m Grateful For Next Moves

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

Not too long ago, I was asked to join the advisory board of a private technology consulting company. I’m genuinely fascinated by its deep industry knowledge and its ambition for future growth. But what really energizes me is the chance to have a bird’s-eye view of AI—how it’s evolving, how it’s being deployed, and how large and middle-market companies are wrestling with it in real time.

This is a next move that will stretch me. It’s a significant learning opportunity, one that will help me as I think about the bank’s own technology and AI roadmap. I’ve always been intentional about my education. Sometimes that looks formal—like my Harvard board certification. Other times it’s an online course. And often, it’s the learning that happens in boardrooms, where you add value but also absorb so much.

Everybody has their own way of learning. Mine is to put myself in strategic positions that sharpen my understanding of the marketplace—the opportunities, the risks, the shifts happening beneath the surface. I’m grateful for the doors God continues to open that allow me to grow, contribute, and stay ahead of what’s coming.

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

— Psalm 90:12

For me, this verse is a reminder to be intentional with my time—to step into learning opportunities that stretch me, shape my wisdom, and prepare me for what God is calling me to build next.
