Gratitude Focus: Grateful For My Social Media Assistant And The Journey Of Growth We’ve Shared This Past Year.

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

A little over a year ago, I committed to writing more consistently. Though I’ve been writing for 30+ years—across blogs, local papers, and sites like Reimagining Our Future and The Accidental Banker—this season has been different. My social media assistant joined my team and committed herself to excellence, to aligning with my vision, and to growing alongside me. She’s also been building her own business during this time, and it’s been rewarding to see her apply the same dedication there.

One piece of counsel I’ve always shared with her is simple: it’s easier to keep a client than to recruit one—so strive for excellence. She’s taken that to heart, and together we’ve learned some key lessons. Chief among them: you don’t compromise quality for speed. Sometimes you need to slow down, reduce the number of things you’re trying to do, and focus on doing them well. I’m grateful for her willingness to embrace that discipline, to stretch, and to help shine a light on the work we’re doing to inspire and encourage others.

“Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.”
— Proverbs 22:29

Who in your life is not only growing with you but also building something of their own, and how can you encourage them to keep striving for excellence?
