Gratitude Focus: I am Grateful For My Son

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

Yesterday, he called and said, “Dad, when I asked you what the most important thing to you was many months ago, you said something like family, or faith, or something. Dad, while those things are important, if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything. I want you to live a long time. We have so much more to learn from you.”

He was reminding me to schedule my doctor’s check-in. Since he’s finished finals, he certainly has more time on his hands—but this felt good.

Who in your life gently pushes you toward being your best and how are you responding to their care?

Question for Reflection

Hi, I’m Orvin Kimbrough, volunteer, board director, chairman, and CEO. I help professionals move from feeling stuck to being strengthened by reshaping how they think, lead, and live. My work focuses on confidence, leadership, and influence through mindset shifts, expanded networks, and bold, values-aligned action. My perspective is rooted in lived experience, from growing up in foster care to leading complex institutions as a CEO and shaped by faith, resilience, and a deep belief in human potential.
