Gratitude Focus: I’m Grateful For An Old Friend

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

I received an unexpected email from someone I knew more than twenty years ago. They shared a social media post about a season in their life when they were living on the surface—without intention, without purpose, and walking through a messy relationship chapter. In their post, they wrote about a person who once spoke life over them, encouraging them to see themselves as God sees them, and as the people who care deeply about them see them—not through the lens of hurt, disappointment, or a temporary funk.
They told me I was that person.

It humbled me. It reminded me that words are seeds. What we speak can grow into something beautiful or something broken depending on how it is planted, watered, and received over time. I’m grateful that what I sowed years ago was encouragement, and that today this person is thriving—strong relationships, strong business, strong outlook on life.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”— Proverbs 18:21

Whose life needs a word from you today—a seed of encouragement, truth, or hope that could grow into something meaningful over time?
