Gratitude Focus: I’m grateful for memories today

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

I’m sitting on a dock looking out at the water, surrounded by quiet beauty. Along the walkway are benches—each with a plaque honoring someone’s life. One reads, “In honor of Mimi, who loved her family, her God, and her ocean.” It’s moments like this that remind me how deeply place and memory intertwine. I love early mornings like this—when the world is still asleep, and I get to experience things in their purest form. What strikes me is how some places are designed to foster connection—like this public chessboard nearby—reminding me that even in solitude, community is never far away.

“The memory of the righteous is a blessing.”
— Proverbs 10:7

What memory brings you peace today, and how can you honor it by being fully present where you are?

Question for Reflection

Hi, I’m Orvin Kimbrough, volunteer, board director, chairman, and CEO. I help professionals move from feeling stuck to being strengthened by reshaping how they think, lead, and live. My work focuses on confidence, leadership, and influence through mindset shifts, expanded networks, and bold, values-aligned action. My perspective is rooted in lived experience, from growing up in foster care to leading complex institutions as a CEO and shaped by faith, resilience, and a deep belief in human potential.
