Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
This morning, I woke up grateful for light. I lay in bed a little longer than usual, watching the way it danced across the wall. I sleep with a fan on, so when it blows the curtain just right, the movement creates this soft, graceful light show.
As I watched, I found myself thinking about the power of light. Spiritually, I thought of the moment in Genesis when God separated light from darkness. Scientifically, I remembered that what I was really seeing was the Earth slowly rotating toward the Sun—our planet spinning us back into light after a night of rest.
That simple truth hit me: every dawn is a reminder that we’ve been given one more chance to rise, to see, to grow. I don’t take for granted that I get to see another day.
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”
— Genesis 1:3
Where is light showing up in your life today, physically, spiritually, or emotionally, and are you pausing long enough to notice it?
Question for Reflection
How do you approach and make the most of slow days?
