Today, I’m grateful for meaningful conversations, one with a local foundation focused on social and economic mobility, and another with a family-owned aerospace company that embodies the American dream.
Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
The first meeting was with a local foundation’s CEO and board chair — a conversation that was long overdue. For more than a year, I’ve wanted to connect with them to explore how Midwest BankCentre might partner more intentionally around our shared mission of fostering shared economic prosperity. Their focus on creating pathways for mobility aligns perfectly with our work in community banking and economic empowerment.
Afterward, I had the privilege of visiting one of our aerospace customers — a family-owned business whose story is a remarkable testament to resilience and innovation. The founder, an immigrant who came to the U.S. during a turbulent time, began the company in the basement of his home. What started as an attempt to fix his wife’s car evolved into a thriving enterprise serving the aerospace industry.
Listening to that story reminded me of what I love most about this work — the opportunity to engage with people who believe in building something lasting, who lead with both passion and purpose. I walked away from both meetings inspired, grateful for time well spent, and reminded that impact happens one intentional relationship at a time.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
— Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
Whose story can you learn from today — and how might that story reshape how you think about purpose, partnership, or prosperity?
Question for Reflection
How do you approach and make the most of slow days?
