Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
I got up really early to catch a flight back to St. Louis, just in time to witness the baptism of a friend’s son. It was a long night and an even longer day, but I’m grateful for early mornings like this. Even on just a few hours of sleep, I felt grounded and thankful to be in my right mind. A large iced or hot coffee from Starbucks with an extra espresso shot gave me the kick I needed to ease into the day. But it wasn’t the caffeine that carried me, it was purpose.
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
—Psalm 118:24
