Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
Today, I’m grateful for confidence, not just my own, but for the chance to call it out and help grow it in someone else. A while back, I told a team member, several levels down in the organization, that we should connect. That was two years ago. I didn’t push it because I wanted to see if he would take the initiative. I’d nudge him from time to time, but nothing came of it, until now.
We finally sat down and talked. He’s a humble guy. Bright. Thoughtful. But I believe his humility might be masking a lack of confidence. I wanted him to know he doesn’t need to shrink in this world. I gave him a few things to work on, encouraged him to show up more boldly, to ask more questions, and to walk in the belief that he belongs in every room he steps into.
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” —Hebrews 10:35
Where in your life is humility masking fear, and how might confidence serve you better?
Question for Reflection
How do you approach and make the most of slow days?
