Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
Yesterday, my day was unexpectedly interrupted, but in the best way. I had a long, thoughtful exchange with my son after asking him to set aside some time to talk about my social media strategy, particularly how it ties into my website.
He’s a thought leader in the digital space. For me, communication is a structured hobby, a passion that helps me pour into others and live with impact. This isn’t just content creation; it’s purpose work. That conversation gave me clarity, not only about a digital product I want to offer on my website, but also about the need to think more holistically about my presence and focus.
From that clarity came a tough but necessary decision: I’m consolidating The Accidental Banker site and OrvinKimbrough.com. This shift will help me steward my time, energy, and message more wisely. I don’t spend a lot of time managing both sites, and I shouldn’t. This move helps streamline my mission and amplify my voice.
What I appreciated most was not just the strategy, but the counsel, offered with love and perspective. And it reminded me of this:
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” (Proverbs 15:22)
We don’t rise alone. Clarity often comes through conversation, with people who care enough to listen, challenge, and help us grow.
Who do you trust to speak into your plans, and are you giving them space to do so?
