Gratitude Focus: Survival

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

Today I’m grateful for survival. The bank hosted a book signing event at Bellerive, and it was a great event. But what really stayed with me was a young lady in the room, she’s aging out of foster care. I knew she was coming and I noticed her immediately. Something about her presence. Her strength. Her pain.

She’s surviving right now, and I could sense it. I’m grateful that she has a couple of solid people in her life. I said a silent prayer that God would place a hedge of protection around her. My hope is that she moves from surviving to thriving, but even now, her survival is a victory. I tried to speak life into her. Encouraged her to keep holding on. To stay focused.

Who do you know that’s in survival mode right now, and how might your words help them hold on?
