Gratitude Focus: Slowing down to take in the beauty of community

Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:

Today I’m grateful for the chance to sit outside under the stars and listen to live music in St. Charles, Missouri. After celebrating a birthday and an early dinner, we decided to walk through downtown—and what a phenomenal day it turned out to be.

We came across the Chicken N Pickle area where a live country band was playing outdoors. The environment couldn’t have been better—kids laughing and running around, adults hosting gatherings, playing games, and soaking up the music and the moment.

I’m grateful for days like this—when life slows down just enough for me to marvel at community and culture. I found myself sitting beneath the night sky, getting lost in the sound of the music. What a wonderful way to end the day.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

When was the last time you slowed down long enough to simply be still and take in the beauty of the moment?
