What would you do with more time? For many of us, the easy answer is to stay within the boundaries of what’s comfortable, what’s familiar. But leadership, true leadership, calls us to step out in faith, to stretch ourselves, and to embrace the discomfort of doing something new.
This year, a major university approached me to develop a leadership curriculum. It was tempting to say yes. The prestige of the institution, the streamlined process, and the access to eager learners made it an obvious choice. But as I reflected, I realized that while it was a great opportunity, it wasn’t the best one for me. It felt safe, but not freeing. I asked myself: Could I trade familiarity for the freedom to create something on my own? Could I use my time to stretch beyond what I’ve always done and explore new territory?
That decision required stepping out in faith and testing my confidence. Confidence doesn’t mean you have every answer, it means trusting your ability to figure it out along the way. For me, that meant finding a course and a community to guide my journey. With their support, I’ve begun building a leadership program that reflects my vision and allows me to reach people directly, unbound by traditional constraints.
Leadership is about making bold choices and trusting the process. It’s about leaving behind what feels comfortable to embrace what’s possible. Each step reinforces the confidence to take the next.
So, I’ll leave you with this: What new opportunity could you embrace with your time? How can you step out in faith, stretch your leadership, and build something meaningful?
Let’s build a future defined by bold decisions, limitless growth, and courageous leadership.
In what ways have I been holding myself back because of the fear of what others might say? How can I focus on real impact instead of just appearances?
