Some Messages Don’t Just Land They Pierce.
Every now and then, someone sends a message that doesn’t just land, it crashes in.
It grabs your breath mid-sentence.
Not because it flatters you.
But because it finds you.
It speaks in the language of survival, the unspoken dialect of those who’ve walked with pain, tucked it away, and tried to build something resembling a life around it.
I recently received such a message from someone I’ve never met.
They didn’t reach out with a question.
They reached out with a truth.
A thank you.
A reflection.
A moment of soul-recognition between two people who’ve each turned wounds into wisdom.
The Job You Never Applied For, But Still Show Up To
.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&name=Juneteenth+-+June+18+(9).jpg)
There’s a job many of us work full-time.
The title doesn’t appear on a resume.
But it shows up in your posture, your eyes, your relationships.
It’s the job of managing pain in silence.
Of burying the past so deep, even you forget where you left it.
Of dragging secrets into boardrooms, bedrooms, kitchen tables.
Of hiding wounds in plain sight, hoping no one notices—and fearing they will.
Of smiling when your insides are collapsing.
Of pretending the past never happened… while still living like it might.
That job?
It’s exhausting.
The kind of tired sleep can’t fix.
And it’s lonely.
The kind of lonely that follows you into crowded rooms.
Turning Pain Into Power
.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&name=Juneteenth+-+June+18+(11).jpg)
Here’s what I’ve come to believe:
Pain doesn’t shrink when hidden.
It swells.
But when we speak it not as victims, but as victors , It begins to release us.
Not erase us.
Just release us.
What hurt you doesn’t have to hold you.
And the parts you want to hide?
They might just be the parts that connect you most to others.
You don’t need the same trauma to feel the same weight.
Pain speaks many languages.
But healing?
Healing speaks one: truth.
A Word for the One Still Carrying
If you're reading this and carrying something you’ve never said out loud...
If your smile feels like armor...
If your silence sounds like screaming...
If you’ve been telling yourself to “just keep moving”, while something inside remains stuck…
Let me say this plainly:
You are not broken.
You are becoming.
You are not the sum of what you’ve buried.
You are the living proof that survival is possible
And that thriving is still on the table.
From Strangers to Soul-Recognizers
Someone once told me:
“You gave me a chance. Not because you had to. But because you showed up real.”
That’s what this calling is really about.
Not just telling my story
But giving someone else permission to feel seen in theirs.
If that’s you?
I see you.
And I’m proud of what you’ve survived.
Keep rising.
