Reflection/Why I’m Grateful:
Earlier this week, I spent time with members of our team, simply looking back on the past year and celebrating all the value they created. We also honored people who are in transition and talked about what the future may hold. I had so many meaningful conversations with leaders—some who don’t work in this market but made the trip in for the celebration.
What struck me was the intentionality. A couple of people I don’t typically engage with came up to me and lingered—not just a quick hello, but real conversations. I had at least three deep exchanges, asking about their kids, their lives, their transitions, and the challenges and opportunities they’re facing both personally and professionally.
One conversation stayed with me. A leader opened up about their son needing direction. I offered to spend time with him because, honestly, there is no better use of my time than investing in our people and removing barriers to their growth. Sometimes that means pouring into the next generation too—helping a young person think differently, gain perspective, and see possibility.
That’s part of the calling. And I’m grateful for the space, the conversations, and the reminder that leadership is still about people first.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”

Who around you needs a moment of encouragement or direction, and what small step could you take to build them up today?
Question for Reflection
